I have an app in production with real users and revenue. Every time I need to fix something, Replit drains my credits like crazy. Recently had an issue with automations not triggering based on event start times. The AI agent burned through a huge number of tokens just to diagnose it, and the fix still wasn't quite right. Ended up costing way more than it should have. I could have one of my developers handle the same thing in 30 60 minutes for maybe $75. Instead, I got a partial fix and a bill that made no sense. I’m seriously considering moving everything to my own repo and letting my team manage it. This “agent” pricing model is just not sustainable for a real production app.
I would give Replit a zero if I had a choice. The application is all about draining your pockets fast. The tokens go really fast at some point I had to pay $50, and three days later another $50, and then a few days after that they debited my account again. Their system is full of bugs. When you click "fix," you even lose more tokens. If you want to vibe code with a system that actually works, try Cursor or Claude Code. Cursor was my solution, but users need to know that on Cursor you really need to know the basics of coding. If you try it with zero knowledge, you will struggle. I had to lead, and in two months I shipped two applications. Starting a new one today. Just a heads up: stay away from the AI coding tools that promise you the world and deliver nothing.
